GM Fasti: Stuck on Green Splash Poem
Quote:
For anyone who is having this issue, please make sure you've tried the steps discussed below. Once you have tried all of these steps, if the issue continues, please submit a ticket and attach your DXDIAG report. We want to gather as much information as possible about this issue, so your help is appreciated. 1. If you use Avast, make sure to check for any software updates (disabling your antivirus software is not recommended, and generally will not fix this issue). An Avast update was made available a while back, and installing it resolved this issue for a large number of players using Avast. 2. If your game is freezing on the green splash screen without crashing, I'd like to see how many files are in a specific folder: Documents>ArcheAge>USER>udf. Do not open the folder to see how many files it contains, instead, right-click on it and select Properties. The number next to "Contains" is how many files are there. a. If the folder contains just a handful of files, skip to 3. b. If the folder contains millions of files, you can rename this folder to udfOLD and move the folder to your Desktop. A new udf folder will be created upon restart, which is normal, and required. 3. If your still freezing up without millions of files in your udf folder, make sure to go into the settings for your antivirus and firewall application (including Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials, which may be installed, even if you use other applications) and add the full folders for Glyph and ArcheAge as exceptions to your scans. After a patch, these applications may not recognize the files anymore and will start blocking them, even if previously allowed, so adding the full folders as exceptions is very important. 4. If you use voice chat software, close it out completely and make sure the program has exited, then try launching the game again. If the game launches normally, after ArcheAge is running, you can enable your voice chat application again. If those steps don't get you up and running, go ahead and submit a ticket as discussed above, so we can gather additional information. In addition to the DXDIAG report, we'd also appreciate it if you could send us your log files. First up, open Documents\ArcheAge and attach your ArcheAge.txt file. Then, right-click on LogBackups and select Send to Compressed, then attach the compressed file to your ticket. Thanks for your patience!
